The memory of their love
Goddess of the silver screen, everybody's beauty queen,
in bed alone and in despair, tugging at her long blonde hair.
Without success she would have been, small town girl and seldom seen.
married to her working guy, ..... without him she would die.
Reaching for the telephone,
no answer to her call,
just memories .... the memory of their love.
Getting up she packed some things, pulled off all her diamond rings,
drove the car across the state, prayed that it was not too late.
Hammered on the shanty door, heart in mouth she crossed the floor;
to her knees she sobbed and cried, without him she would die.
Reaching for the telephone,
no answer to her call,
just memories ..... the memory of their love.
in bed alone and in despair, tugging at her long blonde hair.
Without success she would have been, small town girl and seldom seen.
married to her working guy, ..... without him she would die.
Reaching for the telephone,
no answer to her call,
just memories .... the memory of their love.
Getting up she packed some things, pulled off all her diamond rings,

Hammered on the shanty door, heart in mouth she crossed the floor;
to her knees she sobbed and cried, without him she would die.
Reaching for the telephone,
no answer to her call,
just memories ..... the memory of their love.
